Our vehicles
L466 - NEH466
This was the first bus acquired by the society on its formation in 1976. L466 is a Leyland Titan OPD2 which originally had a single deck Weymann body but later received a Northern Counties double deck body in 1954. The bus has a sunken gangway on the off-side upstairs and after being withdrawn from public service in 1972 it went on to serve as a driver trainer. It is one of two OPD2's which survive in the UK.

L9766 - 766EVT
SN7692 - 692AEH
SN7692 is an AEC Reliance with Weymann bodywork which was delivered to PMT in 1957. After being privately preserved it ended up languishing derelict in a yard near Winchester. Thanks to the Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust, POPS were made aware that the site was being cleared and SN7692 was about to be scrapped. In November 2018 the bus was returned home and currently awaits restoration.

SL805 - 805EVT
In 1960 PMT took delivery of a small batch of Dual purpose AEC Reliance 470s with Weymann bus bodies. They were given the 'tag' Jubilee Class and had a better class of seating with small luggage boot. These features allowed them to deputise as coaches in peak holiday periods such as the local 'Potters Holidays'. After being sold to a Morris Dancing Troup near Manchester, the bus was purchased by POPS in 1986. In very poor condition, it passed to Steve Morris of Quantock Motor Services who fully restored the vehicle. In April 2025 the bus was reacquired and returned to Stoke-on-Trent.

207 - PVT207L
One of 56 Bristol RE's with ECW bodywork delivered to PMT, 207 was one of the first buses to be delivered in National Bus Company poppy red. Arriving in November 1972, the bus was withdrawn in December 1988 following accident damage. It was then repaired and sold for further service, eventually passing to a preservationist in Hastings in November 1993. The bus was acquired by POPS in October 2018. 207 is a short Bristol RE of which PMT had 26 examples.
604 - OEH604M
The mainstay of the PMT fleet in the late 1970's and early 1980's National Bus Company era was the Bristol VR. In total PMT received 132 examples brand new. 604 was numerically the fourth one and arrived in January 1974. After being withdrawn in August 1990, the bus went on to work for Thomas of Porth before being purchased by a Lincolnshire based preservationist ten years later. 604 was acquired by POPS in July 2005.

120 - C120VBF
The mid 1980's was known as the 'minibus revolution' as full size buses were replaced by minibuses running on higher frequencies with drivers being paid lower wages. It led to a big increase in bus usage and the minibuses were soon nicknamed 'breadvans'. Usually vans converted into buses, PMT didn't just operate them, it also built them. 120 was the first PMT production bodied Mercedes 608 built for their own fleet which was donated to POPS by PMT due to its historical significance.
755 - G755XRE
POPS most modern vehicle is G755 XRE, a 1989 Cummins engined Leyland Olympian with Leyland bodywork. It was one of a batch of ten which arrived with PMT in 1989. These were the last new buses delivered to PMT before First took over and 755 went on to become the final one on the books in 2014. They proved to be very good for the company, hence their lengthy service lives. After withdrawal the bus was kindly donated to POPS for preservation by First.
